Beach Bluff Cycling Club gets $3,000 Gourmet Garden sponsorship
Beach Blluff Cycling Club has recently been awarded a $3,000 sponsorship by Gourmet Garden to participate in this year's Multiple Sclerosis Bike Tour Challenge, a 150-mile bicycle race beginning in Boston and finishing in Provincetown.  The ride, taking place June 24-25, benefits the Central New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The Team met April 1 with representatives from Gourmet Garden for the check presentation.  Along with its sponsorship, Gourmet Garden has also offered to host the fund-raiser for the team to help meet the team's goal of raising $10,000.
"I thinks it's great that a well-known local business like Gourmet Garden agreed
to help our team raise not only money, but awareness of multiple sclerosis which is the whole reason for the ride," said team captain Myles Brown.
The Beach Bluff Cycling Club is a team made up mostly of Swampscott residents who spend  mornings before work cycling around the Swampscott, Marblehead, Lynn and Nahant area.  In 2004 the team decided to enter the MS Challenge Ride and bring their hobby to the next level.
"We hope to raise more money each year," said Co-captain Kathleen O"Sullivan," and Gourmet Garden has given us a huge start toward our $10,000 goal."
